Daniel Funston

Hello! My name is Daniel Funston. I am a young artist of many disciplines, currently living in Chamblee, GA, USA. In April 2022, I graduated from the University of Florida with a BA in English Film and Media Studies, a BM in Music, and a minor in Digital Arts and Sciences.

Video Editing

As an English Film and Media Studies student, I learned to study and emulate film techniques. As part of my classwork, I created short films, which I planned, directed, and edited. I participated in UF's week-long Campus Movie Fest 2020, placing among the top 16 films out of over 90 submitted. I have experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Photoshop, Audacity, Clip Studio Paint, and Autodesk Maya.

Writing

I write short stories, ranging from one page to twenty, and following a broad range of characters. During my time at the University of Florida, I participated in a number of creative writing workshops, including one led by Uwem Akpan. My favorite genre to explore is fantasy fiction. I also held a position as a TEDxUF Speaker Coach, helping speakers write and refine their talks.

Voice Acting

I have acted in plays and musicals throughout high school and college. Some of my roles include Tweedle Dum and the Dormouse from Alice in Wonderland, Galileo Figaro from We Will Rock You, and Pinball Wizard from Tommy. As a TEDxUF Speaker Coach, I helped speakers develop the stage skills necessary to deliver a compelling talk.My home studio is a part of a walk-in closet lined with triple-layered moving blankets. I record using an AT-2035 microphone with a pop filter and shock-mount, alongside a UA Volt 1 audio interface. My audio editing software of choice is Audacity.
